<div>Oct 4, 2024 09:00 AM Gender, Sexuality and Constitutionalism in Asia (Hart Publishing, 2024) Edited by Wen-Chen Chang, Kelley Loper, Mara Malagodi, and Ruth Rubio-Marín This book examines the rich diversity of constitutional responses to sex, gender and sexuality in 12 jurisdictions across Asia. The case studies, written by leading comparative constitutional scholars, also consider these legal developments in their historical, political and social contexts. As a whole, the volume furthers understanding of the constitutional domain as a fruitful site for advancing gender equality and the rights of sexual and gender diverse people. In this webinar, the book’s co-editors will provide an overview of key themes and Rebecca Aviel and Luc Beaudoin will comment from U.S. constitutional law and gender studies perspectives. Wen-Chen Chang is Distinguished Professor at the National Taiwan University College of Law and was recently nominated by the President of Taiwan to lead Taiwan’s judiciary; Kelley Loper is Professor and Director of the Nanda Center for International &amp; Comparative Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law; Mara Malagodi is Reader in Law at the School of Law of the University of Warwick; Ruth Rubio-Marín is Professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Sevilla and head of the Gender and Governance Programme of the School of Transnational Governance at the European University Institute; Rebecca Aviel is Professor of Law and Maxine Kurtz Faculty Research Scholar at the Sturm College of Law; Luc Beaudoin is Professor and Director (Acting) of Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies at the University of Denver.</div>
