Cognitive Load Theory 3 - intrinsic, extraneous, germane.

<div>The three types of load in Cognitive Load Theory give us serious tips to design our instruction better. While I have presented three types of load here - Intrinsic, Extraneous, and Germane, some theorists suggest that Germane load is not a thing. guys like Slava Kalyuga say that only the first two load types are needed for Cognitive Load Theory to work. While this may be true, I tend to agree with Mayer and others, that the idea of Germane (or Generative) load, allows us to design better instructional materials, because we become focused not just on the transmission of knowledge, but on encouraging deep processing.</div>
