1.3.3Approve Content
To approve one or more entries, select the relevant entries (for multiple choice either use the CTRL key or use the selection drop-down menu at the bottom of the page) and press the "Approve Selected" button. Note that you can approve more than one entry at a time, but only entries appearing on the same page of the main list.
1.3.4Ban User
Clicking on the "Ban User" link under the preview player triggers a notification to be sent to your website's CMS with a request to ban the specific user that created the selected entry.
1.4PLAYLISTS
This is the main page for playlists created in your account. Here you can create new playlists (either manual or rule-based), search through playlists, and conduct several actions on a specific playlist or multiple playlists simultaneously. You can sort the list by clicking the various columns and scroll through the pages at the bottom of the list.
1.4.1Search
The Filters pane on the left side of the page enables you to search for specific playlists existing in your account. You can search for any word in the playlist name, tags or both. You can also filter by date - you select a date range by clicking the calendar icons on the "Created between" field.
1.4.2Delete
To delete one or more playlists, select the playlist to be deleted (for multiple selection use the CTRL button or the "Select" links at the bottom of the page) and press the "Delete" button on the bottom of the page. A prompt box will ask you to approve your selection and once you click "Yes", the selected playlists will be deleted. Note that you can delete more than one playlist at a time, but only playlists appearing on the same page of the main list.
1.4.3Preview And Embed
To preview and get the embed code for any of the playlists, click the "Preview & Embed" link under the Publish column on the main list of playlists. In the new window that opens you can preview the playlist, and try a variety of playlist styles by selecting different options in the drop-down menu at the top of the preview window. To add the playlist to your site, copy the embed code from the window under the playlist and paste it in your site.
1.5ADD / EDIT PLAYLIST
To add a manual playlist click the "Add Manual Playlist" button found to the right of the main list. To add a rule-based playlist, click the "Add Rule-Based Playlist" button found to the right of the main list. To edit an existing playlist, simply click on the playlist name.
1.5.1Add Manual Playlist
In this window you can create a new manual playlist. Enter a name for your playlist (required) and description (optional). You can search for clips to include and filter through your content on the left side of the screen. Add and remove clips to/from your playlist using the left-right arrows. You can change the order of the clips in the playlist using the up/down arrows at the bottom right corner of the page. When you are finished, click the "Save" button at the bottom.
1.5.2Add Rule Based Playlist
1.5.2.1Define Rule
In this window you can create a new rule-based playlist. First, you need to enter a name for your playlist (required) and a description (optional). Now you need to define the actual rule that will result in your playlist content. You can use any number of filters: you can define a list of clips that all have the same tag (for example, if you enter the term "dog" into the search box and click search, a new rule-based playlist will be created for all the clips that have the "dog" tag). This list will dynamically change each time a clip is added or deleted to/from your account. Clicking "Additional Filters" opens further filtering options, including "Media Type", which allows you to select video, video mix, audio or image entries, and "Duration", which allows you to filter by clip length. By clicking the calendar icons on the "Created between" field you can also select a date range on which to run your query. You can use one, several or all fields for your query. When more than one field is used, the logical relationship between fields is an "AND" relationship. The results of your filtering parameters will appear in the "Playlist result" pane. This way, for example, you can define a rule-based playlist that consists of all the 0-4 minute video clips that were created in the past week. In addition to filtering, at the bottom of the window, you can define a preferred order for your playlist. You can order it by Most Viewed (overall, last week or last 24 hours) or Most Recent (for example, most recently added to the KMC). If, for example, you would like to create a dynamic playlist that at any given moment consists of the most viewed clips in the last week, all you need to do is leave all the filter parameters empty, and select the "Most Viewed 7 Days" option from the "Order by" drop-down menu. Note that on the bottom of the playlist you can see the number of entries in the playlist and their total length. Furthermore, you can automatically limit the number of entries that will be included in the playlist by adjusting the counter positioned to the right of the "Order by" drop-down menu. When you are finished defining your new playlist, click the "Save" button. If you would like to apply more than one rule to your playlist, click the "Switch to Advanced Mode" link at the bottom of the window. Note that this will clear all previous information that you have saved in your playlist.
1.5.2.2Advanced Mode
Here you can create multiple rules to apply to your playlist. The rules will be applied to the playlist in the order that the rules are listed. Therefore, you can rearrange the order of the rules with the arrows at the bottom of the screen. Start creating your rules list by selecting the total number of entries you would like to include in the playlist. Add, edit, remove or move your created rules. You can view the total number of videos and their duration under the main list of rules.
1.5.2.2.1Add Rule
To add a new rule, click the "Add Rule" button. An "Add Rule" window will open, allowing you to define the rule parameters. Select words from the Tags and choose one or more media types (video mix, video, audio, image). You can also set the date range by clicking on the calendar icons, order the entries by most viewed, most recent or highest rated, and limit the maximum entries for this rule. You can use one, several or all fields to create the rule. When more than one field is used, the logical relationship between fields is an "AND" relationship. Click "Save Changes" to complete the process. A single playlist can have more than one rule, and the entries in the playlist will be displayed according to the order of the rules in the main content menu.
1.5.2.2.2Edit Rule
To edit a rule, click the rule line on the main table and press the "Edit Rule" button on the bottom of the page. An "Edit Rule" window will open where you can edit any of the rule parameters. Click "Save Changes" to finish.
1.5.2.2.3Remove Rule
To remove a rule, click the rule line on the main table and press the "Remove Rule" button on the bottom of the page.
1.5.2.2.4Change the order od rule
To change the order of previously created rules, click the rule line that you wish to move and press the up or down arrow buttons on the bottom of the page. The rule will move accordingly.

1.6.2Import from Existing Host
Here you can import content from an existing host - this is especially useful for cases where you have a large amount of media files hosted on an online server, such as another video service or an FTP server. Follow the instructions in the web page to create a CSV file, and then click "Browse" to select the file and "Submit CSV" to begin the bulk upload. The table at the bottom of the page displays all of the bulk upload sessions that are related to your account.
The CSV file should have the following fields for each media clip, separated by comma:
- Name - mandatory. Name of the media
- Description - optional. Description of the media
- Tag - optional. Tags to be added to the media. Multiple tags can be assigned using double quotation marks for the entire field, and commas to separate between tags. For example: " tag 1, tag 2"
- URL - mandatory. The URL from which the media is to be pulled. Kaltura supports the following protocols: http, https and ftp. In addition Kaltura supports user:password additions into the URL in the following format: protocol://username:password@domain/filepathname. for example: ftp://projects8:741@ftp.kaltura.com/kaltura final 4_CD.wmv
- Media Type - Mandatory. Must be one of the following: video, audio, image.

2.2.2Advanced Settings
Changing these settings will take effect only for new content ingested (from the moment changes have been saved) and is not retroactive.
Append Entry to Video Mix
This option by default appends new content that has been uploaded to a mix automatically so that it is ready to be displayed in the player as part of the mix. Selecting "False" will make the content available in the KMC but does not add the content to the mix itself.
Appear in Uploader Search
This option allows partners to choose if the content they ingest via Kaltura is:
• Public : appears for all Kaltura partners who add Kaltura as a media source in the uploader or in any web-based Kaltura directory of content.
• Available only to your site users.
• Private: Does not appear in searches at all.
User Page & Media Page URL format
To integrate Kaltura on your site so that entry objects can be displayed in galleries, the Kaltura entry object has 2 parameters: [partnerLandingPage][userLandingPage]
To point to these parameters, you can do 1 of 2 things:
• Enter a base URL to which Kaltura will append the user ID/Entry ID.
• Enter the URL syntax of your choice, and make sure you add {uid} for users and {id} for entries.
User Upload Limit
By default, users can upload files up to 150 MB per file. This can be changed here. Note that users cannot upload more than 1GB per session. For example, setting the upload limit to 100MB allows users to upload up to 10 files at a time.
2.2.3Notifications

2.3.2Edit Existing Access Profile
To edit an existing profile, click on the profile name in the main "Access Control" area, make any changes you require and click "Save Changes".
2.4TRANSCODING SETTING
To ensure optimal playback, source files uploaded to the system will be transcoded into multiple file flavors.
The player will automatically select the most appropriate file flavor based on multiple parameters such as the bandwidth connection of the viewer, player size, etc.
File flavors can also be used for download and syndication. By default, files uploaded to the system will be transcoded to the flavors selected in the main transcoding settings page - this is considered the "Default Transcoding Profile".
Terminology:
Source file - The file uploaded as a source
Flavor - A single output file with its specific file type, bitrate, GOP size, etc. May be used for playback, download or editing.
For every file uploaded, the system tries to convert it to all selected default flavors. If the source file is of low quality, low bitrate, or small dimensions, the system will convert only to flavors that are applicable for this source file. For example, if the file bitrate is 300 Kbps, the system will not create an additional flavor for HD (that requires over 4000 kbps). Transcoding only to the relevant flavors allows you to minimize your storage requirements and reduce storage costs.
2.4.1Advanced Mode (Multiple Transcoding Profiles)
Advanced mode allows you further flexibility and control over flavors created. You can specify multiple conversion profiles; each transcoding profile is a group of flavors. For each upload session, you can select the transcoding profile to be used (done via flashvar passed to the uploader widget - KCW). For example, a website that holds both UGC and editorial content can specify a different transcoding profile for each content type. UGC content will be associated with a transcoding profile that contains only a single flavor - Standard web quality. Editorial content will be associated with a transcoding profile that contains multiple flavors ranging from Standard quality to HD.
2.4.2Add Profile
In the advanced mode you can add additional profiles. Each profile will receive a unique ID that should be passed on uploading sessions.
2.4.3Add Profile
If needed, custom transcoding parameters and additional file formats can be added as custom flavors. For more information, please contact Kaltura professional services.
2.5ACCOUNT UPGRADE
To learn more and upgrade your account, fill in your details and our Sales Team will get right back to you.

For authentication purposes, you will need to provide your current password before being able to make any changes in the system.

ADMINISTRATION SECTION
5.1USER MANAGEMENT
This page shows the list of the users defined in the system.
5.1.1Add User
The following information should be provided for adding a new KMC admin user. Please note that a limited number of users is allocated by default to each KMC account. If you reached the KMC users quota for your account and need to set additional users, please contact Kaltura with a request for additional KMC admin users.
Email address - This should be the user's actual email address. It will serve as a unique identifier of the user in the Kaltura system, as the user login username and as a recipient address for system-generated messages. Upon the creation of a new user account, a welcome email notification will be sent to this email address with a link for setting the initial password
First name, Last name - User's name
Publisher ID (Optional) - This is a unique identifier that may be in use by the publisher in different systems. This will serve as the KMC user identifier as content contributor in all KMC-related locations. When a publisher ID is not provided, the user email address will be used as a default value.
User Role - The selection of a KMC user role will define the set of permissions granted to the user for the different KMC functionalities. This role should be set according to the tasks that the user needs to work on and the functionalities that the user needs access to within the KMC. The different KMC user roles are set (by users who are granted with permission to do so) from the KMC Roles page (under the Administration tab).
5.1.2Edit User
After a user account is set in the system, the user's personal details can only be set by the user personally from the 'My User Settings' page (under the Settings tab). Only the user role and the user publisher ID information are available for editing from the Edit User window. Please note that it is not possible to edit the user role of the user who is defined as the Account Owner. In addition, a KMC user with access to user management functionalities cannot edit the user role selection of the user's own user account.
5.1.3Block/Unblock User
Blocking a KMC user will prevent the user from logging into the KMC. This restriction can be removed by applying the unblock action.
5.1.4Delete User
This is a permanent action. The deleted user cannot log into the KMC anymore. The deleted user's content contribution records will be kept in the system.
5.2ROLES MANAGEMENT
This page shows the list of the roles defined in the system.
5.2.1Add Roles
When adding a new KMC admin user role to a specific publisher account, the relevant set of permissions should be selected within the "Add Role" window. Here you should select which KMC functionalities should be available for users who will be set with this new defined role. Most of the permissions are organized under KMC high-level functionalities - group names (for example, content management, playlist management, etc.). Clicking the "advanced" option provides a more detailed list of the specific KMC functionalities related to the group. Clicking the checkmark next to each permission group name will toggle the permission level for the specific KMC functionality to the following modes:
- Full Permission (checked) - Grants access to all KMC functionalities listed under the permission group.
- View-Only Permission (partially checked) Grants view-only access to the KMC functionalities listed under the permission group.
- No Permission (unchecked) No access to the KMC pages that are relevant to the KMC functionalities listed under the permission group.
5.2.2Edit Role
Applying changes to user roles will affect the access level of the KMC users associated with this role only after the users log in again to the KMC. It is recommended to edit an "in-use" role when users associated with this role are not logged into the KMC.
5.2.3Duplicate Role
The duplicated role action may be useful as a quick way to create a new KMC user role with a similar, but not identical, set of permissions as an existing user role. The duplicated role will be populated with the permission set of the duplication source role, so minor changes to this permission set can be easily made.
5.2.4Delete Role
This is a permanent action. It is not possible to delete a user role record as long as KMC admin users are associated with the role. In such cases, make sure to update the relevant KMC user accounts with another user role before attempting to delete their existing role.
