Hoping these support forums are finally working? Will keep this brief for now... don't want to expand on the issue then find nothing is going to the forum anyway... Issue: Editing sound within an existing mix seems to be breaking at least one kaltura vid. After editing sound levels, the video no longer loads properly in the viewer. Instead, at best, I get the underlying music track and random stills taken from 2 or 3 of the component clips used in the video.
This is my first time running into this particular glitch. Wondering if there are others running into anything similar, and if so, have you found any reliable workarounds? The vid in question appears at http://www.kaltura.com/index.php/browse?kshow_id=10344 As I run it from there at the moment, only the image from the initial clip shows, followed by blackscreen and no audio from component clips. When I edit this video it remains essentially as I left it. Have made minor edits, changed title and thumbnail in hopes that a resave would somehow realign the vid with its sources. One idea that occurs is that the edit in question is composed of very short segments from much longer videos. Granted, this has not been a problem in previous edits, and the content of this version is nearly identical to that of several earlier edits by myself and others. Am wondering about workarounds, at least for now, given that this is all clearly still beta level software. Ideas and experiences will be appreciated! Glad to see the forums are finally working again... keeping fingers crossed. ;)

Publish. Come back out. It shows me my video but if I look at the list of edits I see that she is back at the top 1 minute ago. Instantaneously. Looks like a bug? And the embed code only shows her edit no matter what I do. user: craphammer
Hmmn. I didn't even see a kaltura at the link mentioned. Since the link is somewhere outside Kaltura, I wonder whether or not the actual link to the video isn't to a specific edit? Hard to say with no way to check the info, though.
As of this moment, I can get to various Kaltura pages, but none of the videos are loading, at least not for viewing.
Please disregard that last comment... the interruption seems to have been both temporary and quickly resolved, whatever the cause may have been. Glad to see, by the way, that the widget now seems to be compatible with WordPress blogs!
It seems that editing sound levels with a video (especially when a music track has been added as a separate layer?) leads to some unpredictable behavior ... noise bumps, individual tracks getting their levels set lower than expected, and so on. Are there some workarounds for this that anyone would care to share here?
Due to some firewall problems, my account (and only MY account, so far as I could tell) were temporarily shown in browser as suspended. Unless this is some tremendous coincidence, of course.

I'm considering offering a group of associates an opportunity to help on a group video, but don't want just anyone coming in and messing things up, deleting files, and causing havoc for the fun of it. 1.) What is a procedure to prevent someone from deleting all of our group project? 2.) If someone did delete all files, is there a backup feature? 3.) How can I assign a different password to each user, and thereby cancel their invitation should it be necessary, say, to preserve the peace? 4.) When others have been invited, do they have permission to change passwords, my name, and other data that I don't want changed?

Is it possible to export the movie (let's say on my desktop)? Or is the movie only visible at the kaltura site (and nowhere else)?

Hi! Just a few problems I'm encountering: 1. I'm having trouble uploading .avis. I'm trying to upload an avi, but every clip I upload sticks at the "Clip is being converted" screen. When I go back to the kaltura, the clip gets an "error converting entry" message. The file size is under the limit. Luckily, the clip seems to upload when I convert it to .wmv. Any suggestions? 2. How do I delete those error movies? I can't find the option.. 3. I can only upload 6 clips to my kaltura. No arrow pops up to allow me to scroll to a blank square in the editor. Thanks! Max
hi Max, I can only partially help... 1. some .avi files fails to convert, that depends on the codec used to encode the file, so re-encoding it (as you did) usually helps). 2. you can go to your "myKaltura" page (by clicking your user name) and there you can edit all your media and Kalturas (the "edit all" link will lead you there), and delete them. 3. do you still have problems uploading more then 6 clips to your kaltura?
A friend of mine is trying to open kaltura on a mac. Every time he tries, it crashes Safari. Any ideas?
Safari support is coming soon. for now, FireFox works great.
Nice looking site but what about the importing of content? (groan) Another ‘startup’ using YouTube videos which are such crappy quality. No Google Video or Veoh import. But wait, I can upload… And I can use the browser. (groan) Which is largely dependant on the speed of my connection which is why I use Veoh and Google as they have upload programs which quietly upload heaps of content totally independent of transfer speed or crappy connections.
