Pupillary light-near dissociation due to chronic tonic pupil in the left eye
Note the larger size of the left pupil in room light. This pupil has a poor light reflex. When a near stimulus is presented, the eyes converge and both pupils constrict but more dramatically in the left eye. After removal of the near stimulus, the excessively constricted tonic pupil of the left eye remains the smaller pupil for a few seconds.
