Making MediaWiki Usable for Youth in Africa

As UNICEF worked with wiki based software in projects in Africa it became evident that the user experience needed to be evaluated from the African user's perspective. A usability testing center was set up in Tanzania and subsequent research informed the development of usability focused MediaWiki extensions as well as ways to access created content with mobile phones. We will show you how you too can easily implement the lessons we learned.
