Do you want to be the talk of the preschool room? Do you want three year olds for miles around to wish they were you? Do you want to sing your ABC's like a pro? Read on my friend, read on.

Steps

  1. Warm up by making funny sounds (very important) Start off: "Loo loo loo loo loo loo loo loo loo" in a higher tone until the middle, and then drop the tone.

    • Sing "ABCD"
    • Now "EFG"
    • Then "HIJK"
    • Followed by "LMNOP"
    • Add "QRS"
    • Next "TUV"
    • Finally "WX,Y and Z"

  2. And now close it off with "Now I know my ABC's, next time won't you sing with me?"
  3. OR
  4. "Now I know my ABC's, All the letters came to tea!" Which can be useful when working with small children, as they love having pretend 'tea parties.' (Don't forget the plastic cups!)

Tips

  • The ABC song is traditionally the same tune as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."
  • Remember to have fun. (Don't sing alone)
  • Learn it backwards for extra bragging rights.
  • If you want to have a little fun with your audience, try singing the ABC song to the tune of a different childhood favorite, for example, Three Blind Mice or Mary Had a Little Lamb.
  • Make your own words at the ending. You do not have to remember these. Whatever you wish to say....say it.;)

Warnings

  • Small children can be very selective of what they listen to, and may go off in a huff if you mess up the ABC song.
  • Make sure You actually KNOW your ABC's.
