Wikis are discussed in the context of work and research practices, with a focus on research contexts, specifically Wikiversity. A discussion of Wikiversity's scope and the development of its research policy is pursued, and placed within the context of two case studies of existing research projects. Implications of conducting and hosting research in a wiki are raised, as well as whether and how a wiki can be considered itself as a methodology.

This presentation will discuss implications of using wikis for doing research, with a specific focus on Wikiversity. I will discuss the experience of developing a scope and policy for research in Wikiversity, and the experiences of two existing collaborative research projects. I would like this presentation to lead into an open forum, with questions and ideas for doing research 'the wiki way'.
